🌍 Agritech Roundup
Afreximbank and South Africa's Industrial Development Corporation have signed a three-year agreement to establish a framework for an $8 billion trade and industrial development financing program across the continent.
Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon have signed the Abuja Declaration to form the Cocoa Value Addition Alliance. Experts are asking if this new alliance will finally capture more of chocolate’s $150bn value.
ActionAid Nigeria has raised concerns about how agricultural allocations across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory average 4.58% of total 2026 budgets, remaining below the 10% target established under African Union commitments.

Fishcluster, a Nigerian agritech startup, has secured $1 million in commercial commitments for its AI-driven underwater robotics platform designed to automate fish feeding and monitor water quality.
Pangea Africa Ltd and Black Star Africa Ltd have acquired a majority stake in Eden Tree Limited, a producer and distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables in Ghana.
📅 Ag Events and Opportunities
The World Bank GAFSP Grants has launched a new $163 million grant program. The funding is available to support climate-smart agriculture, food security, and smallholder innovation in vulnerable and low-income countries. The window closes on September 15.
The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is recruiting a remote consultant for capital mobilization and investment readiness supporting sustainable agriculture in Zambia and Malawi. Applications close on August 5, 2026.
